Eye Exams From Dr. Alan Ross
At Northern Valley Eye Care, Dr. Alan Ross offers comprehensive eye and vision exams and many other services to patients in the surrounding areas. How long has it been since your last eye exam? If it’s been more than a year, now is the time to schedule an appointment with our eye care team.
The Importance of Regular Eye Exams
There are many reasons to have an annual eye exam in our office. For starters, an eye exam is the best way for us to be on the lookout for signs of underlying medical problems, including cataracts and glaucoma. Furthermore, eye exams are a great way for us to make sure your corrective vision prescription is up-to-date so you’re able to see as clearly as possible.
Even if you don’t think you’ve noticed any changes in your eye or vision health since your last eye exam, it’s a good idea to have an annual exam anyway. A lot of times, even small changes can be problematic, and the only way for us to detect them is through a comprehensive exam by our highly trained and experienced staff.
What to Expect From an Eye Exam
If it’s been awhile since your last eye exam or if you’ve never had an exam done in our office, you might be wondering what to expect. During your appointment, you’ll begin by meeting with our eye care team, where we’ll review your medical history and ask you some basic questions about your health. From there, we’ll give you an opportunity to bring up any questions or concerns about your eye and vision health.
Next, your examination will begin. We’ll conduct a number of tests in our office, including some visual acuity tests, tests for your peripheral vision, and eye function assessments. Our eye doctor will also conduct a thorough evaluation of your overall eye health, taking the time to look into the eyes and their their important structures. If any signs of problems are detected during your exam, we may recommend further testing.
